Education for sustainable development: UNESCO wants to make its contributionEducation for sustainable development and climate action: What contributions from WANSSE?

This is the central theme of a reflection workshop, organized on Thursday 20 May, at the Wharf hotel in Grand-Bassam, by the Ivorian national commission for Unesco.

Chaired by Konan Kouassi Noël, Secretary General of the Conference of Ministers of Education of the States and Government of La Francophonie (CONFEMEN) of the Minister of National Education and Literacy, this workshop which is part of the from the 6e meeting of the Network of Associated Schools of West Africa (RESSEAO), brought together about ten participants from Benin, Cote d'Ivoire, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Togo and Burkina Faso. All of them hold the post of General Secretaries in their respective countries.

At the opening ceremony, Minister Mariatou Koné's representative welcomed the choice of this theme, which he said is topical because it addresses the major urgent challenges facing the planet. "It is a duty to support you and encourage the Secretary General of the Ivorian National Commission for Unesco and his collaborators who are doing an immense job, thus making it possible to strengthen cooperation between our country and Unesco", he declared on behalf of the Minister of National Education and Literacy.
