This specialized module addresses the topic of children and climate change, with the aim of bringing the children's perspective to debates on managing the global crisis. It shows how children are or can be affected by climate change. The module then examines how children's resilience could be enhanced and how actions to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions could lead to a wide range of benefits. It also prompts participants to think about solutions focused on empowering children as agents of change, as well as reflecting on the key role governments play in protecting children. Numerous examples are provided to illustrate the concepts presented.
The module was developed and peer reviewed by UN CC: Learn, in collaboration with The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). Read more
